The Idea Behind Nutters In Portugal

Please take a moment to view our FORUM

Airport Transfers from Faro

This site has been put together with one aim in mind. Keeping in touch with friends we have left behind, and also staying in touch with new friends we have made since we moved to our new country

Tom & Jackie moved to Praia Da Rocha in December 2005 to open the bar whilst the rest of us stayed behind to finalise family issues in the UK.

The remainder of us eventually managed to  move here "full time" on August 20th 2006.

We have now all got to grips with the bar and now that more of us are here we are hoping to advertise it a little more and have also started with little improvements in the bar. These include extending the room sizes by moving walls which also enable us to maintain the heat in winter. This will also enable us to keep the bar cooler in summer once we have had the Air Conditioning installed.

History of Praia Da Rocha

The English translation for Praia Da Rocha basically means "Rock Beach". "Rocha" has for a long time been famous for it's nightlife in the peak summer seasons and then the older more relaxed generation of holidaymakers taking a 3 month break in the winter. Praia Da Rocha started life in the early 20th century as place to stay with only a few villas.

The development of the resort started in the early 1960's with the boom in apartment blocks really hitting full speed in the mid 1970's. The beach was also extended in the 70's with the dredging of the nearby estuary which is where most of todays sand was pumped from, making the beach virtually man made.
